CHOPPERFEST CEREMONY

Here's theawards ceremony from CHOPPERFEST 2012

Green Machine!

Here's a kick ass shot from E-man after we were done shooting for the Magazine. Look in the next few months for a spread on this Green Machine.

CHOPPERFEST WINNER 2012

After all the hard work everything paid off! I was once again deemed the Godfather of the Michigan Mafia 2012. I have a ton of people to thank for the support and believing that I could do it! I want to first thank LD Davidson for throwing Chopperfest and giving me the opportunity to be an invited builder for this year. I want to Thank Dean Jones from Detroit for all the support he's givin me and support at Chopperfest this year...it would have been what it was without him. I also want to thank Scott for the paint job...he absolutly murdered it...I couldn't have been happier with his work. I also have to give big props to my guy Kevin Klemick for his help with bringing the 76 shovel back to lifeand on the road. He truly went out of his way to give me a hand with the motor...much appreciated Big Kev!  Next, I want to thank Nurse Nut and E-Man (from The Horse Magazine) for taking time out of their busy schedule to come down from Detroit for the judging. I hada blast this year and look forward to next year.

CHEMICAL CANDY PAINT SHOWED UP!

Scott at Chemical Candy Customs killed this paint job for the build-off. I met Scott at Born Free and he's one cool cat from down in Austin, TX. I had already sent him my tin when catching up with him in Cali but it was good to actually meet the artist behind the paint. We went over a few things of colors and textures so when he got back he could bang it out and in the mail before the show. Once again he came through and had my tin to me 5 days before heading to Michigan! These pics are right after I bolted everything on. It was better than Christmas as a kid!

Custom Hand made seat

Here you have it. The day before my tin showed up I finshed wrapping my seat. I use leather jackets from the GoodWill or Salvation Armyto cut and wrap my seats with. If you want to see how the seat pan is made keep scrolling down....the seat pan is fiberglass and can be messing at times but works great for a perfect fit.

In Memory of my Aunt Lucy

Two years ago we lost this Angel back to the Heavens...and the Hospital she worked at had this bench made in her Memory. Mark is standing proud with his new leg and support shirt. My uncle Mark is basically like the Terminator...nobody can stop this guy...probably the strongest guy I know....and love them both! RIP Lucy....we ALL miss you so Much!

Hangin' with Matt Olsen

I went and spent a few hours hanging out with Matt Olsen (winner of the Born Free Show) and had a damn good time too. He's a great guy and probably one of the most knowledgable people you'll ever meet that knows his vintage motorcycles. Him and Carl (his Dad) rebuild these pre 1950 motorcycles for a living. It was cool to see the operation and how they work. They keep it low key by working on their own property and having almost everything you need on site. Interesting enough his fiance Brittney is also very knowledgable of these old motorcycles as well. She's a very cool girl and I had a great time just bullshitting and talking about bike's over dinner.
One of my favorite parts of the trip was being invited back in the morning to take a ride on one of his old bikes into town for some breakfast. He let me jump on the old famous 36 knuckle that's his daily rider (the bike with the chrome tank) for a 30 mile run. I have a new appreciation for the old vintage style motorcyles after spending some time with them. I'm looking forward to seeing what he brings next year to Born Free...especially since he told me what his plan was and with bike he's going to build it from. Should be a treat to see...let's just say he'll be keeping alot of the original parts with original paint... with original modifications done over 50 years ago. I won't say anything more than that.

BORN FREE 4

The BORN FREE Show was absolutly the Best Show Ever! I've never been as over welmed as I was when we walked through the Parking lot to get to the show. I brought my buddy Rock to come check this out because I knew it would be something that was going to blow our minds away. The bikes there were ALL BADASS...from Flatheads to Shovels the best of the best were there. We saw all the invitational builds in person rather just seeing them on the innerweb.  They were even better in person than I thought they would be. I posted a few pictures that showed the level of builds that were there. I was able meet up with a few friends out there as well as making new one's. I'm excited to say that Matt Olsen was the Best of Show winner with his 47 Knuckle. I was fortunite to meet Matt last year, so it was real cool to see him take the win. The winner got a all expense paid trip to Japan for the Mooneyes Show in December. He said this is his honeymoon now for him and Miss Brittney. Congrats Matt!

Big Thanks to Mike and Grant for putting on this Show and I'm glad I was able to attend. I will def. be there next year!
