New Tin

Well...got back from Vegas 2 days ago and have been itching to get back in the garage to do some work...so I busted out this drop seat oil tank for Big Kev's 72 sporty. I still have to weld the bungs, breather tube and return tube. As soon as thats done I can weld the top on and get it mounted. Shouldn't be too much longer.

Also...I'm trying to do something different with my new gas tank. I decided to add some side panels to the side of the gas tank to give a unique look that I haven't seen before. I'm probably going to be cutting in inch or so out of the center of the tank to narrow it a bit to compensate for the added panels. After the body work and molding I think it will have real nice lines. I'll be sending these to Scott at Chemical Candy for another one off paint job. This time I think I'll add some silver leaf!?? We'll see....

Brandon's Scoot's

Just got a text from Brandon Couturier remindin' me he's still doin work in Traverse City, MI. Here's are a few pics he send me and a few I dug out of my files from Chopperfest V. That's actually where I met this cat. He's actuallay a cool ass dude, we had alot in common...talked about our builds and everything else that has to do with buildin bikes and the event's that are worth checking out.  He specializes in Triumph's... and it sure show's. He's obviously landed 2 of them on the cover of The Horse Magazine which proves his level of work and detail. I'm planning a trip with some friends to take the boat over and a ride up the Michigan shore to see his latest creation (last photo).

Look for some of his work to be featured in up coming Horse Issues.

Just picked up the new Wrench Magazine....looks like another one worth getting! This is the first issue and covers Bornfree 4 and some other badass bikes. If you see it on the shelf check it out.

BIKE JUMP

Here's a kick ass shot of Anthony Cota skyin over my scoot at the bikepark in Racine a couple days ago. This is actually a screen shot from a video Matt Binetti is producing for me. Matt's a life long friend of mine who lives in NYC making short films and and editting for HGTV.

BMX

I took my bike down to the local Skatepark yesterday for a video shoot and I gotta tell ya, hanging out down there brought back all the childhood memories of riding bmx bike back in the 80's. I wish we had parks like they do today. Most of our riding was on dirt tracks and concrete curbs. there were some talented kids down there for sure. I had some of the best one jump over my bike for a few shots. The video will be out in a month or so. Looking forward to see what he comes up with.

Baddass Girls on Badass Bikes

I've always had a thing for girls on motorcycles...especially when they're this freakin' hot! If she can look this good...and ride off on her own...that's THE SHIT!

Shovel Trouble

Well...the other night I was smashing on I-94 towards Madison...rode about 70 miles before turning around and heading back to Racine. We probably went 25 miles at 65 miles and hour and th ebike was running...I mean running hard...and out of no where the motor chuged twice and just make a horrible noise and shut down. I pulled to the side of the road and kicked it one more time, and man...there was so much burning oil and smoke I had to shut it down. Needless to say I called my guy Big Kev to come give me a lift. I told him I was walking it to the next exit and would let him know which exit it was. After walking a mile and a half in the dark with trucks and cars flyin by me going 80 mph. I finally reached a sign that said exit 282 2 miles (FUCK!) so I kept walking to the next exit and after the 3.5-4 mile walk I finally made it to the exit. Walking up the exit I instantly started laughing at the irony that the only building off this exit was not a gas station or hotel...it was Wisconsin Harley :) (I know they were closed at this time) but it was still just too cool to see the bar and shield just glowing orange after walking in the dark for over an hour.

I got home an found a half dollar sized hole in the rear piston. Luckly I had an extra set of pistons and cylindars for the motor just sitting on the shelf. I needed topend gasget kit and I was good to go. Big kev decided to come dig in and get into the motor to make sure there wasn't too much damage. This fix took a whole day to fix but everything was gone over and improved and painted before  assembly.  After the work was done she fired up after 3 kicks. Not too shabby....time to ride.
